What is a TournamentGeek Pool:

A TournamentGeek pool is a competition based on the NCAA annual basketball tournaments for men and women. Pools are easy to set up, easy to join, simple, and fun to follow during the tournament.

The NCAA Tournament: The NCAA selects 16 teams for each of four brackets (or regions) and ranks them from strongest (number 1 seed) to weakest (number 16 seed). So there are, for example 4 number 1 seeds, 4 number 2 seeds, etc. The teams in each region are matched against each other and the winner of each game advances to the next round in the tournament. Over four rounds, one winner emerges from each of the four regions.

Then, the region winners play each other in two games, and the winners of those games play for the championship. A total of 63 games determine the tournament winner.

A Player's Pool Entry: To enter a pool, all a player has to do is choose one team at each of the 16 seed levels. The game helps you make your choices with dropdown lists and radio buttons. So each player will have some of the best teams in the tournament, and some of the - uh - least best.

Pool Scoring: After each of the tournament's 63 games is finished, you will get points if the winner is one of the teams you selected. In many pools, this is simply one point for each win. However, the pool host can set up the scoring to award a different number of points for wins in each tournament round. The points rules your host chose are shown on the pages where you select your teams and on the pool details page.

And that's it.
